These three movies are locked in for Eid-ul-Fitr release in Pakistan

Although various films were tentatively lined up to release on Eid-ul-Fitr this year, only three films have been finalized to hit cinemas on the auspicious holidays of Eid; Legend of Maula Jatt, Tich Button and Fast and Furious 9.

Earlier, Money Back Guarantee, Dum Mastam, Lafangay: Chapter 1 and Half Fry were also slated for Eid release but this would have led to a chaotic collision of films which would have in turn caused harm to the industry at large.

Hence, some filmmakers such as M. Ehtashumuddin of Dum Mastam and Faisal Qureshi of MBG have sensibly made the decision to postpone their films to a later date. Some others haven’t come up with any decision yet but we are pretty sure they would follow suit.

Legend of Maula Jatt was recently locked in for the Eid ul Fitr release. Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer has kept the fans waiting for its release for over two years and the film stands out in star power, is anticipated to lead in advance sales.

The makers of Tich Button have also confirmed its release on Eid-ul-Fitr as they had already launched the film’s teaser and had announced its release date. The teaser of the movie seemed very promising and hence fans are expecting a good outcome from this Qasim Ali Mureed’s directorial.

In addition to these two local movies, Fast and Furious 9 will also be hitting the silver screen this Eid. The major Hollywood outing has a massive fan following in Pakistan and it would surely bag a competitive advance as well.

We believe that these three movies are enough for our cinema this Eid which should be able to cater to three films. Hence, these should be finalised for the Eid season and now no other filmmaker should try and accommodate his/her outing on Eid ul Fitr.

A 4th or 5th big film will hurt the collective business of all films and hence this has been sensibly averted by our filmmakers.
