‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ opens with $330m worldwide!

The much anticipated Black Panther sequel has delivered second-best opening of 2022, after being released in 50 overseas markets, including an early rollout on Wednesday in some territories.

As reported, Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has reignited the global box office by delivering estimated weekend takings of $180m in North America and $150m for 50 international markets – combining for $330m worldwide.

Its the third highest start for any Hollywood title during the pandemic era (all are MCU films), as well as the second biggest global opening of 2022 to date.

As reported, at the global box office, BP2 is running 5% behind the original Black Panther (which had the benefit of President’s Day and Lunar New Year holidays) and 8% ahead of Thor: Love and Thunder (which was released earlier this year in summer).
