"Verity" is set to release in 2026 and marks the second big-screen adaptation of Hoover's novels.

Dakota Johnson was spotted on the set of the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel “Verity” in New York City.

During filming, she was photographed covered in fake blood, capturing a dramatic scene alongside co-star Josh Hartnett.

Johnson plays the role of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer tasked with completing Verity’s bestselling series after a mysterious accident leaves Verity unable to write.

Stepping into the role of Lowen Ashleigh, Johnson looked effortlessly in character as the production unfolds.

The film also stars Anne Hathaway as the titular character Verity, and it is directed by Michael Showalter.

The scene in question appears to involve a car accident with a cyclist, with Hartnett’s character, Jeremy Crawford, arriving on the scene.

The film promises a darker atmosphere compared to other adaptations of Hoover’s works, such as “It Ends With Us,” which was released in 2024.

“Verity” is set to release in 2026 and marks the second big-screen adaptation of Hoover’s novels. The story follows Lowen as she uncovers unsettling notes and secrets at Verity’s residence, questioning the truth behind Verity’s writings.
