Halloween Kills’s first reviews indicate a ‘darker, meaner, disturbing’ sequel!
The Jamie Lee Curtis starrer film made its debut on Wednesday at the Venice International Film Festival.
The initial reactions appearing from the critics seem to be divided.
According to Collider’s Rafael Motomayor, “#HalloweenKills is a darker, meaner, more disturbing entry in the franchise. The kills are absolutely brutal and shocking in the best way. It was great seeing old characters again, and there is a flashback that blew my mind. Sadly, this is 100% half a film, and it ends abru.”

Meanwhile, critic Ben Rolph called the film”one of the most brutal films ever made,”
#HalloweenKills is absolutely gnarly, it takes 2018’s violence up to a whole new level. It might be one of the most brutal films ever made? Naturally, it’s very entertaining, while having something to say. It’s also quite refreshing as it takes some surprising turns in its story. pic.twitter.com/on8o1PoliV

Well interestingly, here is how others react to the critics’ reviews:
Just because a select few people saw the film DOESN’T mean you can spoil the film. Don’t publicly post about spoilers. #HalloweenKills pic.twitter.com/wBTTxci80z

I love how the HALLOWEEN KILLS reviews are calling it an old-school, relentless bloodbath like that’s a bad thing and not *exactly* what fans of Michael Myers want.
