‘Indiana Jones 5’ crew member found dead on filming location in Morocco

‘Indiana Jones 5’ crew member is reported to have been found dead on a filming location in Morocco.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the production confirmed that Nic Cupac, 54, had died in Morocco, also noting that Cupac was a part of the camera crew and worked on the second unit, having joined the production fairly recently.

He was found dead in his hotel room while the movie was filming in the city of Fes, while no cause of death has yet been disclosed, but “he is thought to have died of natural causes.”

Cupac is known to be an industry veteran who also worked on films in the “Jurassic Park,” “Harry Potter,” and “Star Wars” franchises. He had recently jetted to Morocco to help film the big-budget blockbuster.

As being reported, more than 100 crew members had reportedly assembled in the city to prepare for the filming of a major stunt scene using a rickshaw.

The film’s production has already been suffering from pandemic delays and it was just last week when Morocco banned flights to and from the UK because of the rise in Covid-19 cases.

Reportedly, Harrison Ford,79, who portrays Indiana Jones, was scheduled to fly to Morocco just before the ban was announced.

The fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise was initially scheduled to be released in theatres on 9 July of this year but was postponed until 29 July next summer amid pandemic delays.

As per Disney’s new announcement, the film won’t be released until at least the summer of 2023.
