The film, scheduled for release on December 20, 2024, will also introduce Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, a character integral to the Sonic lore.
Fowler expressed excitement about Carrey’s commitment, noting that he not only returned but also embraced the challenge of developing a new character within the franchise
The plot will see Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles teaming up with Robotnik against Shadow, creating a complex dynamic among the characters.
Carrey’s involvement is anticipated to add depth and humour to the film, as he has become a beloved figure in the series since his first appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog (2020).
