Sex and the City star Willie Garson dies at 57

Willie Garson, known for playing Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City, died on Tuesday, September 21, aged 57.

According to reports, he was suffering from Pancreatic Cancer.

The news of his death was confirmed by his son, Nathen Garson, in a social media post.

Following the news, Cynthia Nixon and Matt Bomer, who worked with Willie in Sex and the City and While Collar, respectively, shared emotional tributes remembering him.

Willie Garson’s Sex and the City co-star, Cynthia Nixon, mourning this death tweeted, “So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson. We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship, and show business lore. He was a consummate professional— always.”

His co-star from Kim Catrall in a tweet said, “Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie.”

He appeared in many movies and shows including Friends, Kingpin (1996), There’s Something About Mary (1998), Sex and the City (2008), and its sequel Sex and the City 2 (2010).
