A cafe in Lahore was reportedly fined Rs 60 Lakh for using the Starbucks logo.

The Competition Appellate Tribunal (CAT) imposed a fine of Rs 6 million fine on a cafe based in Lahore, Options International, for fraudulently using the Starbucks logo to sell products in Pakistan.

After conducting an investigation, authorities found that Options International cafe had violated Section 10 of the Competition Act by disseminating false and misleading information, misleading customers, and undermining Starbucks’ commercial objectives.

The Competition Appellate Tribunal (CAT) in its verdict, raised the fine from the initial Rs 50 Lakh to Rs 60 Lakh.
