America’s favorite pancake chain IHOP is coming to Pakistan

America’s favorite pancake chain, International House of Pancakes, more commonly known as IHOP is all set to come to Pakistan. According to Bloomberg, IHOP plans to open 19 restaurants in Pakistan, with the first open being operational by the end of 2019 in Karachi.

As part of the IHOP’s “efforts to seek new revenue abroad” the international chain plans on opening 18 more branches across Pakistan over the course of 9 years.

According to news shared by Dine Brands Global Inc, the parent company of IHOP, nine of the franchises in Pakistan will be operated by the Gerry’s Group while the rest would be sub-franchised.

“Pakistan’s rapidly growing economy” said Dine Brands Chief Executive Officer Steve Joyce as quoted by Bloomberg.

“We are delighted to be bringing the world famous American IHOP experience to our country and to our portfolio of successful companies,” said Akram Wali Muhammad, Managing Director for Gerry’s Group in a press release.

“While IHOP will be a new brand in Pakistan, there is already significant awareness of and excitement about IHOP and we look forward to the opening of our first location later this year.”

IHOP is already operational in 14 countries including India, Thailand and Guam and is exploring possibilities for business in the United Kingdom as well.
