Italian court sentences bear to death
In a unique turn of event, Italian court sentences bear to death for injuring father and son.
In the Trentino region of Italy, a bear attacked a father and son and injured them, after which the victims filed a case against the bear.
The court sentenced the bear to death for the attack has prompted international animal rights groups to call the sentence illegal and withdraw it.
As being reported, a brown bear attacked the father and son last week while hiking in the mountains north of Trentino.
“When we sat down to rest on the mountain, the bear attacked from behind. If we were not careful, he might have killed us,” said the victim.
A statement from the Italian Department of Environmental Protection and Research said, “We consider it a convenient destination for mountaineers, so we do not allow people to go there.”
After the attack, the governor of Trentino took notice of the incident and ordered forest department forces to immediately arrange for the bear to be killed.
