Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bans the use of mobile phones in schools for staff

The directive emphasizes that staff members are only permitted to use their mobile phones during designated free time within the school day.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has banned the use of mobile phones for staff in schools across the province.

KP’s Elementary and Secondary Education Department has sent a letter to the education officers of all districts in which it has been asked to ban the use of mobile phones during school hours.

According to the Department of Education, the use of mobile phones during school hours harms student’s studies, so the use of mobile phones should be banned in the classrooms.

As part of the enforcement measures, the heads of educational institutions are tasked with collecting mobile phones from all staff members at the beginning of each school day.

In case of emergency, the staff should contact the landline or mobile phone of the school head, the staff can use their mobile phone only during free time.

It is necessary to get permission from the heads of the institution to take pictures or record a video.
