Two young Pakistani origin authors have been shortlisted for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2019.
The decision to include Jamil Jan Kochai and Sadia Abbas was announced in a ceremony held at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK.
DSC Prize founders and jury chair Harish Trivedi along with member Jeremy Tambling were present at the ceremony.
In addition to Kochai’s 99 Nights in Logar and Sadia’s, The Empty Room, the other books included in the list are Madhuri Vijay’s The Far Field, Raj Kamal Jha’s The City and the Sea, Amitabh Bagchi’s Half The Night Is Gone and There’s Gunpowder in the Air by Manoranjan Byapari.
