OUT! L.B.W. Mitchell Starc to Kagiso Rabada. Length ball, off stump on the front foot working, hit pad to. There it is, Starc snares his third victim of the night and the tourists win by a huge margin. Australia have thrashed South Africa by 97 runs in Cape Town to seal the T20I series 2-1. The Aussies got off to the perfect start thanks to an opening blitz from Aaron Finch (55) and David Warner (57), leaving the Proteas always fighting to drag the match back their way. They did an okay job with cutters and slower balls working well but a late flourish from Steven Smith meant the target was set at an imposing 194. The hopes of the hosts would have been resting on skipper Quinton de Kock, however he was castled by Mitchell Starc in the first over of the response. From there, wickets tumbled regularly and the spinners worked their magic to secure the series trophy for the visitors. It's been a big learning curve for South Africa over the last few weeks, not managing to win when the pressure was on although they will be stronger for the experience no doubt. Australia confirm their position as hot favourites heading into the World Cup at the end of the year, especially as it is on home turf down under.

FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Kagiso Rabada. Half volley, to leg on the front foot glancing, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs. Starc misses his line fractionally and Rabada uses the pace to tickle it fine.

OUT! Bowled. Ashton Agar to Lungi Ngidi. Arm length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed to. Timber, that's a good old fashioned swipe by Ngidi and he gets nowhere near the ball. Agar has two in two and now fancies bagging himself his second hat-trick of the series. What a performance this has been by Australia.
14.2
W
OUT! L.B.W. Ashton Agar to Anrich Nortje. Arm length ball, outside off stump on the front foot reverse sweeping, hit pad to. Nortje has delusions of grandeur and attempts a reverse sweep, I'm not sure if he's ever practiced that before because he makes an awful mess of it. Agar fired it in quick and full leaving the umpire with no choice but to raise the finger of doom.

OUT! L.B.W. Mitchell Marsh to Dwaine Pretorius. Leg cutter length ball, off stump moves in front flick, hit pad to. Marsh comes into the attack and makes an immediate impact. Pretorius aims something violent over the legside but gets pinned in front and it's a simple decision for the umpire. The batsman takes a punt on the review but starts walking off before it's even complete, he can see from the big screen that it is as plumb as it gets. A lovely little cutter there by Marsh, rolling his fingers over the ball just a tiny bit.

OUT! Caught. Pat Cummins to David Miller. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to extra cover, by Finch. Slapped straight to the man, Miller hangs his head because he knows that the game is now pretty much gone. Finch on the other hand is over the moon, the celebrations tell you that Australia believe the series belongs to them. Cummins hasn't been at his best so far tonight but you can never keep him out of the wickets column for too long.

SIX! Pat Cummins to Dwaine Pretorius. Back of a length, outside off stump Deep in crease pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep square leg for 6 runs. That's more like it from South Africa, a towering blow sails way back into the crowd. Pretorius got the length he wanted and used his long levers to great effect.

APPEAL! Adam Zampa to Dwaine Pretorius. Slider length ball, middle stump down the track Slog, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, stumping missed by Carey, appeal made for Stumped. A rare blemish from Australia tonight. Carey should have done better there, a little fumble allowed Pretorius to make it back to safety.

OUT! Bowled. Kagiso Rabada to Alex Carey. Off cutter length ball, down leg side on the front foot Slog, missed to. Gone this time and the front foot is fine. Carey has an uncultured swish of the blade and only makes contact with thin air. Rabada can smile, he gets his first wicket of the night.

OUT! Caught. Dwaine Pretorius to Mitchell Marsh. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump Deep in crease Slog, thick edge in the air uncontrolled to short third man, by Shamsi. These slower balls and cutters are working a treat for the Proteas. Marsh is through his shot way too early and Shamsi has all the time in the world to set himself for the simple catch. Australia are losing their way a little as we approach the death overs.

W
OUT! Caught. Lungi Ngidi to Matthew Wade. Length ball, to leg on the back foot Slog, thick edge in the air uncontrolled to short fine leg, by de Kock. Serious air-time and de Kock holds his nerve, that ball virtually came down with snow on it. Wade almost swung himself off his feet trying to hit it back to Johannesburg and it spooned way up into the sky. Ngidi gets a wicket, he is fantastic at this stage of an innings.

W
OUT! L.B.W. Tabraiz Shamsi to Aaron Finch. Left-Arm Leg Spin length ball, off stump moves in front slog sweeping, hit pad to. Up goes the finger, Shamsi really deserved that wicket. Finch was attempting something a bit different, a bit ambitious, and he pays the price as he misses a straight one. Jubilation for the bowler and the hosts, after a tough start they are dragging themselves back into this.

OUT! Caught. Anrich Nortje to David Warner. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket, by Miller. Finally the local fans have something to cheer, Miller circles underneath a high ball and makes no mistake. That was a sharp bumper from Nortje, onto Warner quickly to rush him for pace and balloon up off the edge. South Africa have an opening now, can they put the squeeze on?

OUT! Bowled. Adam Zampa to Pite van Biljon. Googly length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, missed to. Bamboozled by the googly, Zampa is on fire tonight. Van Biljon had no idea which way that was spinning and it went straight between bat and pad. The series is quickly slipping away from South Africa thanks to some quality bowling from the Aussies.

OUT! Caught. Ashton Agar to Rassie van der Dussen. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Scoop, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to short third man, by Zampa. What a grab, Zampa dives full length to pluck it an inch above the turf. Great athleticism and now South Africa are in proper strife. The two Aussie spinners are working wonderfully in tandem to strangle the run rate.

OUT! Bowled. Adam Zampa to Heinrich Klaasen. Googly length ball, outside off stump moves in front Switch Hit, missed to. The pressure was building, something had to give and it's Klaasen who blinks first. Zampa roars with delight as he knocks back middle stump leaving Australia in a position of real dominance. The batsman was attempting to swat it over the offside after changing his stance to that of a left-hander, a really high risk shot that doesn't come off.

OUT! Caught. Mitchell Starc to Faf du Plessis. Half volley, wide outside off stump on the front foot driving, thick edge in the air uncontrolled to third man, by Zampa. Starc strikes again, it's not the best delivery he'll ever bowl but he won't care about that. Du Plessis threw his hands at a ball that probably would've been called wide if he'd left it alone and he could only skew it into the deep. Zampa seemed to lose sight of it in the lights but made an adjustment at the last moment to cling on. South Africa in trouble.

OUT! Bowled. Mitchell Starc to Quinton de Kock. Seaming away length ball, off stump on the front foot working, missed to. Cleaned him up with a snorter, middle stump goes tumbling back towards the wicketkeeper - what a sight for the fast bowler. Starc is bang on the money after being spanked for a four to give Australia the wicket they will have been striving for. The South African skipper trudges off, his night is done.
