Salman Sufi Foundation that is best known for its women-oriented biking program, Women on Wheels, is coming forward with yet another interesting initiative. Titled AikShaam, the latest initiative aims at paying homage to legendary artists of Pakistan.
“The initiative is being launched to revive the dying culture of artist appreciation who have made remarkable contributions in their fields,” said Salman Sufi Foundation.
“The initiative will feature one legend every two months at the iconic Alhamra Art Center, who are partners in this venture,” the organization further elaborated.
While adding further, “A legend of Pakistan from music, film or TV will be invited and honored; a current artist will pay tribute to them by singing their songs or performing their roles in front of them and the audience. There will also be a Q & A session with the legend.”
One of the first current artists to collaborate for the program is ALI Sethi who will be paying tribute to his mentor and legendary singer Farida Khanum on March 4, 2020.
“Grateful we can pay tribute to my inspiration and mentor, a true treasure of the Subcontinent,” said Ali regarding the upcoming event.
