Indian playback singer Arijit Singh has become the most-followed artist on Spotify globally, surpassing major international stars such as Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
As of July 1, 2025, Arijit Singh boasts approximately 151 million followers on the platform, while Taylor Swift follows with around 139 million and Ed Sheeran with 121 million followers.
This marks the third time Arijit Singh has reached the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s most-followed artist chart, demonstrating his sustained global popularity. His rise is fueled by both classic hits like Tum Hi Ho and newer tracks such as Dhun and Jaane Tu, which continue to perform strongly in streaming numbers.
Despite having fewer monthly listeners (around 47.4 million) compared to some Western artists, Arijit’s massive follower count reflects a deeply loyal and engaged fan base built over the years in the Indian music industry.
Other notable artists trailing behind him include Billie Eilish (114 million followers), The Weeknd (107 million), Ariana Grande, Eminem, and BTS, who is in 11th place with about 80 million followers.
