Arooj Aftab Shines Bright with Two Grammy Nominations for 2025
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025.
Pakistani-American singer Arooj Aftab has once again captured the spotlight with her nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking her fourth consecutive year of recognition by the Recording Academy.
Her song “Raat Ki Rani” is nominated for Best Global Music Performance, while her album “Night Reign” has been acknowledged in the Best Alternative Jazz Album category.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Aftab expressed her excitement: “OMG [oh moy God] YES!!! This will be the fourth year in a row that the @recordingacademy and industry peers have celebrated my music with these accolades, and IT FEELS SO GOOD.”
She further encouraged her fans to keep enjoying “Night Reign,” emphasizing that her musical journey is just beginning.

Aftab’s achievements are particularly noteworthy as she made history in 2022 by becoming the first Pakistani woman to win a Grammy for her song “Mohabbat.” Over the years, she has gained international acclaim for her unique blend of ancient Sufi traditions with folk and jazz influences.
Now based in New York, Aftab moved to the U.S. at 19 to study at the Berklee College of Music, and she has steadily built a reputation as a pioneering artist in the global music scene.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming Grammy ceremony, Aftab’s nominations not only celebrate her individual talent but also highlight her role in bringing Pakistani music to a wider audience.
