Aspiring Artist Shyraa Roy Collaborates with Mohsin Abbas Haider

UAE  based singer Shyraa Roy who just made her debut on the music scene with ‘Raat’ has a lot more to offer this year as she collaborates with Coke Studio sensation Mohsin Abbas Haider. The two are working on a series of Sufi and romantic songs which will be a treat for music listeners quite surely.

“We rejected almost 10 compositions because we wanted something that becomes a fan favorite instantly and Kamli is exactly what will hook everyone,” said Shyra while talking to Oyeyeah

In addition to the pop fusion Kamli, which will release around winters, Shyra is also working on another song Qareeb Ao that will also feature Mohsin. Both the songs are a joint venture of the artists alongside music director Khalid Khan.

But how did the path of UAE based Pakistani singer meet Pakistan’s DJ turned music sensation, we asked.

“Mohsin is a very dear friend of mine and we used to talk on social media. I asked if he’s interested in a collaboration and he was kind enough to say yes,” responded the singer.

“And the reason I reached out to Mohsin was that he has a deep soulful voice which would go along well with the kind of music I am into. You know meaningful, deep and romantic songs,” she added as she reflected on the upcoming songs.

While Kamli is a pop fusion and purely romantic song, Qareeb Ao – set to release around Halloween – is a romantic song with a twist. “It has a bit of ghostly, mysterious vibe to it, because of its story,” Shyra said with a chuckle.

The budding musician is quite amped up and confident that both her songs will be a massive hit amongst listeners and she can’t wait to reveal her year-long hard work with the fans.

“If it wasn’t for the Coronavirus situation we wanted to release Kamli in May, but unfortunately we have to delay it,” she told. However, the wait is worth it and so is her lifelong musical journey which she has worked upon for a very long time.

“I have worked hard on my music. I have spent years working on my voice, my surr and put into hours long ‘riyaz’. I am not just an overnight singer and I want people to know it and support my voice,” said Shyraa.

“I have come a long way and after a lot of dedication,” added the starlet who began her musical journey from as early as the fourth standard.
