Camila Cabello is the new dancing queen of the MTV Video Music Awards

21 years old, Cuban-born Camila Cabello has beaten out heavy hitters in competition including Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and Drake to take home the two top prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards. She was chosen artist of the year and won video of the year for her Latin-flavored hit “Havana”.
During her speech, the former Fifth Harmony singer gave a shout out to all the amazing female artists this year. “I can’t believe this is for me”, she also added. Camila Cabell had split from girl group named Fifth Harmony in late 2016 to launch a solo career.

Havana singer Cabello’s mother Sinuhe Cabello also joined her daughter for a brief waltz. The Artist of the Year and her mom seemed to be having a ball at the event showing the world as they were having the absolute time of their lives in the front row.
