Musician Faraz Anwar has filed a lawsuit against the UAE based aviation company Emirates Airlines for copyrights violation. The singer has accused the airline of using his music on its in-flight entertainment without royalty or permission.
“I am writing this post after many months of attempting to contact Emirates Airlines through proper legal channels,” wrote Faraz on Instagram who sued Emirates in September. He has alleged the aviation company of misusing his music since 2017.
“They have disrespected my legal rights and have used my album and songs on their in-flight entertainment system for years without paying me a single cent or even taking permission from me. It is unbelievable that an international company which is so highly reputed would grossly ignore an artist’s Intellectual Property Rights,” said Faraz on his Instagram post as he shared snaps of the legal notice sent to Emirates.
Faraz elaborated that he has only given his music rights to Coke Studio and Nescafe, and other artists too should sue anyone who uses their music without acquiring permission.
