Mehwish Hayat called out the music portals for classifying Coke Studio Pakistan as “Indian Pop”!
Taking it to social media, Ms Marwel actress called out iTunes and Apple Music for not giving to due credit to the Pakistani songs.
In a tweet, Mehwish pointed out, “Just noticed iTunes/Apple music – music portal classifies our Coke Studio Pakistan as ‘Indian Pop’.”
“Other episodes are ‘Worldwide’ or ‘Asia’- anything but ‘Pakistani’. Come on @AppleMusic give us this one at least! Coke Studio is a Pakistani success & we deserve to be recognised,” she added.

Pakistani music fans are glad that someone from the industry has pointed this out!
thank god there is someone out there who notices such things, even on letterboxd so many good Pakistani movies are listed in "indian cinema" and i cant tell you how much it bothers me like we only have a handful of movies and even those are not being recognized as Pakistani.

Absolutely right, even on @YouTube, Pakistani music is labelled as Indian music. I wanted to make a separate WikiProject on @Wikipedia for Pakistani music but Pakistani Wikipedians neither are much active nor have enough coordination…
