Miley Cyrus has been in the news for quite some time for her up and down relationships and flames, however, this time around the singer is in the news for a professional reason and that’s not very pleasing either.
As per reports, the 27-year old has now reached a settlement with Micheal May who accused her of copying his 1988 song We Run Things. Apparently, Miley in her 2013 song We Can’t Stop had lifted lyrics from Michael’s songs.
The lawsuit was filed against Miley and her record label Sony’s RCA Records accuses that in her song We Can’t Stop Miley lifted the phrase “We run things. Things no run we,” and changed it to “We run things. Things don’t run we.”
After a long legal battle, Miley and the record company chose to settle the case for $300 million, outside of the court. A signed settlement along with details has been submitted unanimously in the Manhattan court.
