Review: Baajay Aur Ballay, Episode 01

Patari has become Pakistan’s one of the most popular music streaming portal and has become most happening scene of the innovative music side in Pakistan. With PSL3 around the corner, this music series aims for 5 sports, 5 cities & 5 songs ”Bajay aur Ballay” seems spot on.

The first episode released focused on Parkour, where the sport meets music. As Patari travels to Quetta with Irfan Junejo to grab hold of the precision and skills of the Parkour boys, played to the beats of Baloch Rapper Sami Amiri.

 

Three days after the release, the video is being praised on various social plate forms and surely is gaining momentum all across. The concept is catchy with a local musician along with sporting sprit, in same video.
Local Hazara boys will gain attention worldwide for sure, self taught group of young boys are phenomenal. Since lack of resources always hinder for bringing potential to main stream, show casing this sports ‘Parkour’ played to the beats of Baloch rapper Sami Amiri matches the frequency definitely.
This rapper Sami was met in Karachi, the only drawback seems to be that as this series is meant for five cities five songs and five sports, people would have loved more to see the rapper actually performing on streets of Quetta. Only this part is a miss.
Rapper Sami narrating his story is inspirational and motivational. His ideas are full of energy captured in one take. Balouch Rap is the next hip hop thing surely to follow in future. It’s a good find indeed the local rap gems with simple catchy words, this particular rap includes lines from the famous Baruhi folk song as well. But the audience would like to hear more of the rapper’s original creativity spun in Baruhi, Urdu or else.
