At least 104 passengers who have arrived Islamabad on April 28 via special flight from Abu Dhabi under the relief flight operations tested positive for COVID-19 infection, reports emerged on Monday.
According to the details, the passengers who reached Islamabad on the said flight had been tested for the disease.
All the passengers who had contracted coronavirus has been sent to the quarantine centre near the Fatima Jinnah University, said deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi.
Captain (retd) Anwar-ul-Haq said that the samples taken from the passengers were sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH) for screening, after which tests of 104 came positive today.
The deputy Commissioner said that all the passengers will be kept under isolation for now.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, 189 passengers coming from abroad tested positive for the highly contagious disease, Health Department reported.
The passengers arrived in Peshawar on April 28 via special flight from Qatar.
Those who have tested positive for the virus have been shifted to isolation in the metropolis while patients with serious condition have been admitted to a police hospital, deputy commission Peshawar said.
