11 members of a family have tested positive for Omicron in Karachi
As being reported the family members had arrived in Karachi from Lahore, and none of them has a history of traveling abroad.
The 11 members, aged between 26 to 77 years old, including three women and three men belonging to the same family, had contracted Omicron variant Covid-19 in Karachi’s District East.
The virus was detected through next-generation sequencing at the public health laboratory of DUHS on Thursday.
According to the officials of the Sindh Health Department, they had sent the samples of 20 people infected with COVID-19 to Dow University for confirmation of the Omicron variant and after analysis.
So far 44 omicrons cases have been detected in Karachi.
