16 December 6th Anniversary of APS Attack Tragedy; It Seems Like Yesterday!

16 December, Pakistan is observing the 6th anniversary of the Army Public School, Peshawer attack tragedy and it seems like yesterday!

APS incident, the most heart-wrenching event in Pakistan’s history after Dhaka fall on the same date. There are no words that can ever console the parents who lost their children in this tragedy.

At least 144 people, mostly students, were martyred when terrorists attacked APS Peshawar on 16 Dec 2014.
Who knew, the young ones who went to school would be laid to rest in coffins the other day. Social media feed today in Pakistan is filled with special messages and images of the young martyrs shared by the families of the victims.

PM Imran Khan also took to social media to share his message on the 6th anniversary of the APS attack tragedy.

“Today, six years ago, the nation was shocked & grieved by the extreme act of terrorism against children & teachers of APS; & the nation came together with a resolve to take on those responsible. We remain determined & are moving forward in fulfilling this commitment to the nation, ” Pm said.

“The fateful “black day” continues to remain a scar on the collective memory of the nation. We cannot forget the agony of this day,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in a tweet reflecting on 6 December 2014 said: “6 years ago today was a dark day not only for Pakistan but for humanity. When we arrived at the hospital this evening to see the injured children of Peshawar APS, we still remember the bravery of this child. His spirits were high despite the passing of a resurrection. May Allah protect the children of all from evil.”

The nation remembers its young heroes who were too young to leave the world in such a tragic way.
