17 die in oil tanker-bus collision in Hub

At least 17 people died when oil tanker and passenger bus collided in Balochistan’s Hub on Monday, said Deputy Commissioner Lasbela Shabbir Mengal.

According to DC Lasbela,16 people sustained serious injuries while they were being taken out of the vehicle, adding that four severely wounded have been shifted to a hospital. The bus was carrying as many as 37 passengers headed to Panjgur from Karachi.

Reports claimed that the bus caught fire after collision with the oil tanker which burnt 17 people to death while 16 others jumped off the bus in an attempt to save their lives.

DC Mengal said that the fire has been brought under control.

Rescue officials said that they have started relief activities after the accident.

Earlier months ago, several major road accidents occurred, resulting in several casualties. In August 2018, at least 18 people, including women and children, died in a collision between a passenger bus and a tanker.

In July, 11 passengers were killed and several others sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash near Nawabshah.
