Boat Accident in Morocco: 22 Surviving Pakistani Nationals to be Repatriated
The govt is coordinating with Moroccan authorities to finalize repatriation procedures for the survivors and the deceased.

22 Pakistani nationals, survivors of a recent maritime incident near the Dakhla port of Morocco, will be repatriated to Pakistan in batches, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that after extensive investigations and collaboration with Moroccan authorities, the repatriation process is being conducted in phases.
The Pakistan Embassy in Rabat has partnered closely with local officials to manage relief efforts and complete the repatriation process.
“The consular team in Dakhla has played a pivotal role in organizing the survivors’ return, while the Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management Unit (CMU) has been closely monitoring the situation,” Khan added.
Of the 86 migrants on board, Moroccan authorities managed to rescue 36 individuals, while 44 Pakistanis are feared dead. Reports indicate that many of the deceased may have suffered from torture before drowning.
The Pakistani Foreign Office confirmed the identification of 21 survivors, with immediate assistance being provided through the embassy in Rabat. This includes food, water, and medical supplies, as well as shelter in a camp near Dakhla.
