3.2 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Karachi

So far no loss of life and property was reported from the metropolis.

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Karachi on Monday evening.

Tremors were felt in Karachi Cliffton, I. I Chundrigar Road and Saddar areas around 6:30 pm local time.

The earthquake’s intensity was measured at 3.2 magnitude on the Richter scale.

While the epicentre of the quake was 15 km northeast of Karachi at a depth of 22 km.

So far no loss of life and property was reported from the metropolis.

This is the third time in the last few weeks that a minor earthquake hit Karachi.

On 2 May, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Karachi including Gadap Town, Katohar and adjoining areas of Malir district.

The quake’s epicentre was 38 kilometres from the northeast of Malir at a depth of 84km, according to the seismic monitoring centre.

On April 24, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Karachi’s Malir district.
