5.1-magnitude earthquake jolts Lahore, surrounding areas
The earthquake’s epicentre was located near Kharian, Punjab and its depth was 15 kilometres.
A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Lahore and surrounding areas on Thursday.
The tremors were also felt in other cities of Punjab, including Jhelum, Kamalia, Khanewal, Chichawatni, Bhalwal, Chiniot, and Hafizabad.
The earthquake made the residents rush out of their homes and buildings in panic.
The quake’s epicentre was measured at a depth of 15 kilometres, near Kharian.
The quake had a longitude of 73.82 East and a latitude of 32.88 North.
As per the initial report of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab, no loss of life or property from the earthquake.
Earlier on November 13, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The tremors were felt in Nowshera, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Malakand, Kohat, Buner, Swat, Swabi and Landi Kotal.
