5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

There have been no preliminary reports of injuries or property damage.

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on Wednesday morning.

The tremors were also experienced in regions such as Mohmand, Shabqadar, Attock, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Abbottabad.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Seismological Centre reported that the earthquake occurred at 10:13 am local time, originating at a depth of 220 kilometres.

The epicentre was situated in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, an area renowned for its frequent seismic activity.

There have been no preliminary reports of injuries or property damage.
