5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Skardu and the surrounding areas of Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday evening.

As being reported, strong tremors were also felt in Gilgit city, Diamer, Ghizer, and surrounding areas.

A strong earthquake also shook the upper and lower areas of the Khurramang district and Ganchha.

Tremors were also felt in Chilas and Astor.

At the time of the earthquake, the citizens came out of their houses reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.

According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the quake was 5.3 while the depth was 45 km and the epicenter was 26 km in north of Astor.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
