6.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Islamabad and surrounding areas on Sunday afternoon.

Intense tremours were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Wah Cantt, Fateh Jang and surrounding areas around 12:55 PM on Sunday.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.3 on the Richter scale, while the epicentre was Tajikistan.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake had a longitude of 69.65 East and a latitude of 38.65 North.

So far no reports of damages or casualties from the earthquake have been received.

This is the second earthquake in Islamabad in one week, the last one was on 19 January 2023.
