9th Grade Student Abducted from Karachi’s Manghopir Area
Kidnappers Demand Rs. 60 Million Ransom

In a concerning incident, a 17-year-old ninth-grade student named Abidullah was abducted from Karachi’s Manghopir area on Wednesday night.
The boy was kidnapped on March 5, when he left home for prayers but never returned.
As reported, the unidentified assailants have demanded a ransom of Rs. 60 million for his release.
The local police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother and are actively investigating the matter to ensure the safe recovery of the student.
According to the news source, this case has been transferred the investigation to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), which has now launched a probe into the matter.
This incident is part of a troubling pattern of student abductions in Pakistan. In November 2024, an 11-year-old student named Masroor Kakar was kidnapped in Quetta, leading to widespread protests and a city-wide strike demanding his safe return.
Similarly, in Lahore’s Sabzazar area, a tenth-grade student was abducted and subjected to assault, with the perpetrators demanding a ransom of Rs. 500,000.
The authorities are under increasing pressure to address this alarming trend and bring the perpetrators to justice. The community remains hopeful for the swift and safe return of Abidullah and urges law enforcement agencies to take decisive action against such criminal activities.
