A gruesome tale of crime comes to light as the dead body of a youth abducted for ransom in Karachi was retrieved from Peshawar.
As being reported, a 20-year-old identified as Umar Farooq was kidnapped from Karachi’s Sachal Goth on September 1, and later his dead body was recovered from Peshawar from a drum, during joint action of the Sindh and KP law enforcing agencies.
The Sindh police and along with a law enforcing agency of Peshawar raided a cargo company and found the body of Umar Farooq in a drum.
The drum carrying the body of the youth was set to be transported to Kabul by the cargo company, the investigation said.
As per the details revealed by the investigation team, Umar Farooq was killed by an Afghan national Gul with the help of his accomplices, who later shifted the body into a drum and filled it with ‘mehandi‘.
The details shared by the investigation team revealed that an Afghan national named Gul Rehman, who was a friend of Umar Farooq called and asked to visit him at his residence at Maymar Complex, Sohrab Goth on September 1.
When the missing boy’s parents called on his number, an unknown man informed them that Farooq has caused them loss in an accident, and later his number got switched off.
A phone call was received from Umar Farooq’s number to his parents a after few days, in which the kidnappers demanded to pay Rs10 million ransom for their son’s release.
The suspects of the case are reported to have fled to Afghanistan, while efforts are underway to arrest the main suspect and his accomplice.
