Abbottabad’s COVID-19 positivity rate highest in the country at 40.32%, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) notified on Tuesday.

According to a statement from the NCOC, Abbottabad is followed by Hyderabad having a 22.12% positivity rate, while Karachi has the third-highest coronavirus positivity rate which is 12.54%.

During the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 1,704 new coronavirus cases countrywide out of which Sindh reported 644 new cases, Punjab 593 cases, Balochistan 24 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported 267 new cases. Islamabad has recorded 159 new infections, Gilgit Baltistan four while Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported 13 new cases.

Punjab has reported the highest number of COVID-19 deaths as 50 people died in the last 24 hours. While Sindh reported 19 deaths.

On Tuesday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 267 new cases and seven more deaths while Balochistan has recorded 24 additional infections.

Islamabad has recorded 159 new infections and two more deaths in the last 24 hours, marking the second straight day of fewer than 200 cases. The capital’s Covid-19 cases tally has reached 36,416 while the total number of fatalities has surged to 393.

Gilgit Baltistan has reported four new infections taking its tally to 4,831

Azad Jammu and Kashmir have confirmed 13 new cases, taking their tally to and 8,015.

AJK has also reported four more fatalities.
