#AbsolutelyNot: PM Khan says Pakistan will not allow bases to US for action in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically stated the government of Pakistan’s stance on providing any bases the US and CIA or allowing any sort of action from Pakistani territory into Afghanistan.

PM Imran Khan gave the statement in an interview with Axios, that will be aired on HBO on Sunday.

An excerpt of the interview, to be aired, has been shared on the Axios website.

The interviewer Jonathan Swan questioned PM Imran Khan, “Would you allow the American government to have the CIA here in Pakistan to conduct cross-border counterterrorism missions against Al-Qaeda, ISIS, or the Taliban?”

“Absolutely not. There is no way we are going to allow any bases, any sort of action from Pakistani territory into Afghanistan. Absolutely not,” the prime minister replied.

The interviewer was struck with surprise over PM’s clear-cut response of “absolutely not”.

He then interrupts the prime minister to reconfirm his words asking, “Seriously?”
