Aimal Wali Khan Supports Ban on PTI

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi echoed Wali Khan's sentiments

Awami National Party (ANP) President Aimal Wali Khan came forward supporting a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)

In a press conference on Friday, in Charsadda alongside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Aimal Wali Khan expressed his support for the proposed ban on the PTI.

He characterized PTI’s behaviour as “undemocratic” and cited the events of May 9 and November 24 as justifications for the ban, claiming they exemplify PTI’s disregard for democratic norms.

Wali Khan stated, “We support the ban on PTI,” emphasizing that the party’s actions necessitate such measures. He further criticized the notion of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, arguing that it would only serve personal interests rather than resolve underlying issues.

Governor Kundi echoed Wali Khan’s sentiments, highlighting the current turmoil in the province and asserting that the provincial government is addressing security concerns through consultations with all political parties. He announced plans for an All Parties Conference on December 5 to discuss these pressing issues.

This announcement follows a recent resolution passed by the Balochistan Assembly to impose a ban on PTI, with similar proposals being submitted in the Punjab Assembly.
Reports indicate that a majority of the federal cabinet supports the implementation of the Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Senator Faisal Vawda claiming that a ban on PTI is imminent.
