NAB also summons Sheikh Rashid on May 24

The National Accountability Bureau has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and his wife Buhsra Bibi in the Al-Qadir Trust case tomorrow, 18 May in its Rawalpindi office.

Bushra Bibi has been summoned to the NAB Rawalpindi office tomorrow along with the case record and other relevant documents.

She has been asked to appear before a combined investigation team of the bureau.

The NAB said the record has been sought from the former first wife as a trustee of the Al-Qadir Trust.

As reported, earlier in the day a three-member team of the NAB had reached Imran Khan’s residence at Zaman Park to serve notice on him in the Al-Qadir Trust Case.

However, the team was not allowed access to implement the NAB orders. The NAB team was told to come back at 2 pm, at which the team left, sources said.

It is pertinent to mention here that On Monday, a division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted protective bail to former first lady Bushra Bibi till May 23 in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Furthermore, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also summoned former federal minister and Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on May 24 in connection with National Crime Agency’s 189 million pounds case.

Sheikh Rashid is reported to have been directed to bring along documents related to the case.

In reaction, Sheikh Rashid while talking to media, taunted NAB saying that he was grateful to the NAB for considering him worthy of a 190 million pounds case.

He said the police have been conducting raids in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to arrest him. He predicted that there would be “decisions” before June 15 and the law and the Constitution will triumph.
