Alarming COVID-19 Situation in Pakistan!!

It is an alarming COVID-19 situation in Pakistan and the country reports 100 coronavirus-related deaths and 4,084 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the total number of active cases in Pakistan has now surged to 48,566 and the positivity rate had also climbed to 8.82 percent. 

While the country has recorded 2,081 coronavirus recoveries during the last 24 hours,

Punjab remains the worst affected province from the third wave of COVID-19 as it reported more than 2000 cases for the sixth consecutive day.

Punjab has recorded 2,467 coronavirus cases and 73 deaths during the last 24 hours.

With newly reported cases, the provincial total is 217,694 and the death toll is 6,319.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 513 cases and 18 deaths on Tuesday. The total has risen to 86,044 and the death toll is 2,319.

Furthermore, Balochistan has reported 10 cases and one death. The provincial total is 19,535 and the death toll is 207.

Meanwhile, the federally administered territories, Islamabad, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan have collectively recorded 825 coronavirus cases and four deaths during the last 24 hours.

The region-wise coronavirus cases breakdown is as follows:

  • Islamabad: 754 cases, 2 deaths
  • AJK: 65 cases, 2 deaths
  • GB: 6 cases

Meanwhile, Pakistan on Tuesday has started the process of registration for coronavirus vaccination of elderly people aging from 50 to 60.
