ANP, Parts of KP including Afghan refugee camp celebrate Eid ul-Fitr

Aimal Wali Khan extends Eid greetings, urges public to observe simplicity and avoid large gathering

Eid ul-Fitr is being celebrated today in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Bara, Bajaur, and the Afghan refugee camp on Charsadda Road in Peshawar.

Residents of the areas celebrating Eid today gathered in mosques and Eidgahs to perform Eid prayers and exchanged greetings.

Strict security arrangements were in place, with a heavy police presence deployed outside mosques and Eidgahs to ensure safety.

Many areas in Bara followed Saudi Arabia’s Eid schedule, celebrating the festival a day earlier than the rest of the country.

Awami National Party (ANP) chief Aimal Wali Khan reaffirmed his commitment to celebrating Eid in unison with the global Muslim community, as practiced during Ramadan.

Extending heartfelt Eid greetings, he especially conveyed his best wishes to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Aimal Wali urged the public to mark Eid with simplicity amid the current circumstances and to avoid large gatherings.

Stressing the importance of health and safety, he announced that Eid visits to Wali Bagh would not take place this year.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet today in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal moon.

According to the Meteorological Department, the new moon was born at 3:58 pm today, and there is a strong possibility of Eid-ul-Fitr being observed nationwide on Monday, March 31.
