Arshad Nadeem, the gold-medal boy, received a hero’s welcome upon return from Paris.

Arshid Nadeem the new Olympic record holder touched down at the Lahore Airport, via Istanbul when the clock marked 1:18 am on Sunday.

 

Top officials including the provincial and federal ministers, the Olympic hero’s family and his fans in large numbers arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport to welcome him.

As the flight landed at the airport, the aircraft carrying Arshad Nadeem was given a water cannon salute at the runway.

 

Earlier on Thursday, in a thrilling final, Nadeem made history after setting a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 metres and won a gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years.

Emotions were high at the Lahore Airport, and hundreds of people including kids and families were seen waiting for Arshad Nadeem.
