Arshad Sharif Murder: Faisal Vawda alleges people within PTI involved in journalist’s killing

Following his Oct 26 presser, PTI Chairman Imran Khan terminated Faisal Vawda's basic party membership.

Former PTI member and federal minister Faisal Vawda has stirred yet another controversy.

Faisal Vawda Monday alleged that people within PTI were involved in the journalist’s killing.

“Planning of the murder was carried out in Pakistan by those who could benefit from it,” Faisal Vawda said while hinting at the planning behind Sharif’s killing.

Commenting on one of the brothers who hosted Arshad Sharif in Kenya, Vawda said: “Waqar [Ahmed] studied with me in college. They have a property business in Karachi.”

In an explosive presser held in Islamabad last week, Faisal Vawda alleged that a person was “conspiring” against the slain journalist,

Vawda claimed to have informed PTI Chairman Imran Khan about the “conspirator”.

Former PTI member rejecting Kenyan Police report claimed that senior journalist Arshad Sharif was shot at from a close range, therefore, his murder was “premeditated.”

Following his Oct 26 presser, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan terminated Faisal Vawda’s basic party membership.

Faisal Vawda tweeted a statement following his removal from PTI that he “kept trying to make Khan Sahab understand, explained to him and emphasized that two confidants, three snakes, and a few maggots are taking his political hard work of 26 years on some other path; that caused the country harm, benefitted the PDM and resulted in confrontation with institutions.”

“We were very close to a compromise. Will reveal their names soon,” he added.
