According to a preliminary report, senior journalist Arshad Sharif died due to gunshot wounds to the head and right lung.
Arshad Sharif was shot dead amid mysterious circumstances in Kenya on Sunday, Oct 22.
According to the report, samples of different parts of Arshad Sharif’s body were taken and have been sent to the forensic lab.
Arshad Sharif’s heart, kidney, lung, stomach, and metal samples were sent to the science lab.
A final post-mortem report will be prepared after the forensics.
At Arshad Sharif’s family’s request, an eight-member medical board of the PIMS hospital carried out the autopsy on his body at the hospital last night.
The PIMS medical board also conducted an X-ray and CT scan of his body at the hospital.
An ENT surgeon and an OMFS surgeon were also included in the team of doctors at the family’s request.
According to Professor Hashim Raza of the PIMS hospital, forensics of the samples sent to the laboratory may take some days.
