Asad Umar To Give Good News Regarding COVID Vaccine Soon
Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Tuesday has promised to give good news regarding the COVID-19 vaccine soon.
While Briefing the journalists, Asad Umar said that the government is taking all the measures to get a vaccine for Pakistan as soon as possible but in the meantime, people should remain careful and follow SOPs to stop the spread of the virus.
Asad Umar has said the government is taking decisions on an immediate basis to procure the Anti-COVID vaccine.
He added that the talks are being held with a Chinese company for the procurement of the vaccine.
According to the minister, the vaccine will be initially administered to the healthcare staff which will be followed by other people.
Furthermore, he maintained that the timely decisions taken by the government and the responsibility demonstrated by the public have greatly contributed to check the spread of the contagion in the country.
The federal minister has appealed to the people to continue to follow the precautionary measures to avoid the devastation caused by COVID-19 in the US and other western countries.
Asad Umar said the government opted for a smart lockdown policy in the wake of the first wave of COVID-19 to protect the lives and livelihoods.
He said the complete lockdown policy adopted by some of the regional countries added to their economies woes.
He said that the Pakistan government’s handling of COVID-19 was appreciated by the World Health Organization and the World Economic Forum and by several other world institutions as well.
A day earlier the federal minister in a series of tweets shed light on the worldwide COVID-19 situation and urged the nation to take responsibility and precautions.
