Assets beyond means case: Accountability Court sends reference against Ishaq Dar back to NAB

Accountability Court on Tuesday has sent the reference against Ishaq Dar in Assets beyond means case back to National Accountability Bureau {NAB).

The court ruled that the matter does not come under it after the new NAB Ordinance.

An accountability court on Monday reserved its judgement on a petition filed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar seeking his acquittal in a NAB case related to assets beyond his known sources of income.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir had reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of from Mr Dar’s lawyer Qazi Misbah and NAB prosecutor Afzal Qureshi.

The accused, including Ishaq Dar, NBP former president Saeed Ahmed, Naeem Mahmood and Mansoor Raza Bukhari, had been nominated in the reference.

The NAB had filed the reference against Ishaq Dar and others in December 2017.

The investigation officer had recorded the statements of 42 witnesses in the reference. Nadir Abbas was the investigation officer in the reference against Ishaq Dar.
