ATM thief, whose video went viral on social media, dies in police custody a day after his arrest!

Reports revealed that the suspect was already suffering from a health condition and was taken to the hospital as the illness worsened.

ATM thief identified from viral CCTV footage in Rahim Yar Khan for his antics at a local ATM boot, dies in the police custody a day after of his arrest.

The mute man identified as Salah Uddin Ayubi of Gujranwala’s Kamonkay district was arrested on Friday in Rahim Yar Khan, in the midst of conducting the same act. The incident occurred on Shahi road at Habib Bank Limited.

According to the district police officer’s spokesperson Zeeshan Randhawa, Ayubi was behaving like a “mad man” in lockup when his condition “became serious”.

As being reported, he was then shifted to the emergency ward of Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital where doctors confirmed his death. After completing the legal requirements, the dead body was shifted to a mortuary.

According to DPO’s spokesperson, the reason for Ayubi’s death would be ascertained after an autopsy report is issued.

Furthermore, he said that an inquiry team has been constituted by DPO Umar Farooq Salamat, headed by Superintendent of Police Investigation, to look into the matter.

The CCTV footage that went viral on social media a few days ago, Ayubi was seen stealing an ATM card after breaking open a machine in Faisalabad and sticking his tongue out at both the camera in the corner of the booth and the one installed in the ATM machine.
