Azam Swati Private Video Leak: SC denies PTI Senator’s stay in Quetta’s judicial lodges

Azam Swati’s video is ‘fake, edited with deep fake tools’: FIA said in a statement

The Supreme Court of Pakistan, (SC) on Sunday denied PTI Senator Azam Khan Swati’s stay at the judicial lodges in Quetta in connection to the private leaked video controversy.

A day earlier in a presser, PTI Senator Swati talked about the allegedly objectionable videos of himself and his wife circulating on the internet.

He also alleged that the video was recorded during his stay at the top court’s rest house in Quetta.

Swati made claims that Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani had made arrangements for his accommodation at the judicial lodges of the Supreme Court in Quetta.

However, the SC has categorically denied the claims slapped by Swati.

SC stated that the rest house is being managed and supervised by its registrar’s office and is meant for the use of serving and former judges of the top court only.

“It is clarified that Mr. Muhammad Azam Swati never used/stayed in Supreme Court judges rest house at Quetta,” a statement by the SC read.

The SC’s public relations office in a clarification statement further added that the senator was instead staying at the Balochistan Judicial Academy (Judicial Complex Quetta), as informed by the province’s special branch.

The Judicial Complex Quetta does not, however, fall under the Supreme Court’s control, it said.

Azam Swati’s video is ‘fake, edited with deep fake tools’: FIA

On the other hand, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a press release said that Azam Swati’s video is ‘fake, edited with deep fake tools’.

FIA said that the “obscene” video circulating on the Internet has been “forensically analyzed” and was “found to be fake”.

“The initial video/audio and frame-to-frame forensic analysis has been carried out on the viral video as per International Forensic Analysis standard,” the agency stated.

“Initial forensic analysis revealed that the video has been edited and different video clips have been joined with defaced faces.

“Further analysis revealed that faces have been swapped in the images using Photoshop. The press conference by the honorable senator, in which he showed his concerns warrants a proper investigation. Mr. Azam Khan Swati is requested to lodge a complaint with FIA and share his concerns about the reason for thinking it authentic.”

“Prima facie, it is a fake video, edited with deep fake tools to create misunderstanding and defame the senator,” it added.
