The Sindh Government has announced a one-day ban on pillion riding throughout the province on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (R.A), to be observed on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
The provincial govt. has also announced to impose Section-144 in Sindh on the occasion according to a notification issued by the interior ministry of Sindh.
Under Section 144, a gathering of four or more people is not allowed on roads. Moreover, hate speeches and demonstrations of arms will also be prohibited under the law. The notification in this regard was issued by the Home Secretary Sindh.
In Karachi on 20 Oct, the Chehlum procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park at about 13:00 hours. Prior to this procession, an Alam procession will join from Shah-e-Najaf Imam Bargah, Martin Road at about 9:00 hours.
A majlis will be held at the Nishtar Park before the main procession to be started form Hussainian Iranian Imambargah, Kharadar.
The DIG traffic police have also issued a traffic plan and route map of chehlum procession.
Likewise, last year, the Sindh government has also called in Army to be deployed at the routes of Chehlum procession and at sensitive areas.
