Bernie Sanders Turns his Inauguration Meme into a Charitable Opportunity
Senator Bernie Sanders has turned his inauguration meme into a charitable opportunity, it emerges on Friday.
Senator Bernie Sanders’s appearance at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday has caught a lot of attention on social media.
One photograph of the Vermont senator featuring him sitting in a chair wearing a Burton parka, hand-knit mittens, and a surgical blue mask left the internet flooded with all sorts of memes.
Though, Sanders has defended his inauguration style choice during an appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
“I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on,” Sanders said.
But he created the opportunity to raise funds for a charity.
As being reported, a sweatshirt featuring Sanders’s image was made available to purchase on Sanders’ website for $45.
The sweatshirts sold out and were back in stock on Friday afternoon in different sizes ranging from small through 2XL.
According to the product description, 100% of the proceeds from the sales will go toward Meals on Wheels Vermont.
