Beware of the fake news! the government has not announced the Eid holidays yet.

It was a day ago when all of a sudden a notification started to circulate on social media stating that the federal government has announced public holidays from May 13 to May 17 on account of Eid ul Fitr.

However, that was not the case.

The Interior Ministry spokesman has confirmed on Monday that the notification doing rounds on social media is fake and the government is yet to make an announcement.

As being reported, the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) has advised the government to declare Eid holidays from May 10 to May 16 as the country battles the most lethal third wave of the coronavirus.

The suggestion for the week-long holiday was sent to the Ministry of Interior which requires approval from the cabinet.
